Hiking competition "Pikuyana-2012" will be held in the Carpathians

Hiking competition in the form of mass ascent to the Mt. Pikuy (1408 m) is conducted as part of the "Year of sport and healthy lifestyles in Ukraine" and dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Ukrainian Scouting, the 98th anniversary of the battle for Užocký pass during the First World War, the 94th anniversary of the Western Ukrainian People Republic (ZUNR), 68th anniversary of Ukraine's liberation from Nazi occupation.
The organizers of "Pikuyana-2012" are the Federation of Scouts "Galician Rus", Tourist climbing center "Skelya" and the Lviv regional federation of sports tourism with the assistance of the Department for Physical Culture and Sports of the Lviv Regional Administration, the National Organization of Scouts of Ukraine, CF "Open Heart" and Anatoly Lisitsyn Foundation.
The opening of mass ascension "Pikuyana 2012" begins on Užocký pass November 2, 2012 at 14:30 with laying flowers at the memorial of the First and Second World Wars and the USS memorial by members of the Organizing Committee, the panel of judges and team members who have chosen railway station Syanky as the starting point of their route.
Registeration of teams is carried out by filing a written application not later than 20.00, October 31 (Wednesday), 2012 with Tourist climbing center "Skelya" at: City of Lviv, Bandera st., 3 (entrance from Bryulov st.), daily from 18.00 to 20.00, or by email at: [email protected]
The winning team will be awarded with the trophies and honors, the runners-up of the competition will be awarded with diplomas and gifts.
