High Specialized Court of Ukraine upheld the punishment for Dymytriy Sydor

High Specialized Court of Ukraine for Civil and Criminal Cases upheld the sentence imposed by the Court of Appeal of Transcarpathian region in respect of the citizen of Ukraine D.Sydor for the encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.

In October 2008, during the 2nd European Congress of Subcarpathian Ruthenians D.Sydor publicly called for a violation of the Constitution of Ukraine by changing the boundaries of the territory and the state border of Ukraine. In respect of this citizen investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Transcarpathian region opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Art.110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

March 19, this year the Court of Appeal in Transcarpathian region as the trial court found D.Sydor guilty and sentenced him to a three years' imprisonment with probation period of 2 years - reported the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
