On Sunday, October 14, at the international state border crossing point "Uzhgorod" border guards detained a citizen of Slovakia when he was attempting to illegally carry the ammunition across the border.
Slovak was going to Ukraine by car "Jeep Cherokee" and chose the "green corridor" for the border control. But during the inspection of the vehicle, a dog trained to search for weapons and explosives gave a signal, which was the reason for the in-depth inspection of the car.
During the inspection the border guards found 20 cartridges for a 7.62 mm hunting rifle, which were in the luggage compartment of the vehicle and two rounds for a 12 caliber hunting shotgun that were hidden in the armrest of the car interior. The found ammunition which the Slovak citizen recognized as his property was seized - informed the press service of the Chop border detachment.
