Elections in the eyes of participants: first results
Immediately after the polling stations were closed representatives of various political parties talked about their own experiences and the results of this year's parliamentary elections in Uzhgorod Press Club.
Valeriy Patskan, "UDAR": "This campaign was different in the brutal mud flinged between the majoritarian candidates . In particular, today agitation materials on pseudo-oppositionist Chuchka were handed over. There are facts of distributing money directly at the polling stations, particularly in school 20, in Perechyn and Studenyy village. Yesterday students' dormitories were sponsored, and today in dormitories we saw excessive number of violations, students were photographing the results of their vote in the booths.
In the polling stations 187 and 199 in Vynogradiv electricity was off, while in Beregovo at station 685 in the gypsy camp funds were actively distributed . In Serednye village we saw a peak of violations. Several people in the booth, photographing. In Mizhgirya people voted outside booths. There are signals that number of young people came to Svalyava district to prevent the export of ballots.
Generally, I hoped that the voting would be more active. Attendance was very low compared to other elections. We did not lose students as colleague said, they were just bought."
Andriy Serbaylo, majoritarian candidate: "Elections at the 68th constituency were not original, they were the same as in the whole region. We had the use of different election technologies, black PR. Voters had a choice not between the candidates and parties, but had to choose between taking money or refusing from money. The last days we felt the use of black PR-technologies, especially against opposition candidates. Especially in Rakhiv and Tyachiv district.
I assume that at the polling station, located in jail, the party in power will have very good results, as well as at the station 548 in Serednye, where Roma community predominantly lives. Uneducated people were brought to the booth and voted all together."
"Fair and equitable, objective expression of will was not the case for Transcarpathia," - summed up Andriy Serbaylo.
Volodymyr Zakurenyy, Party of Regions: "Finally we can take a break from election campaigning. Our staff was preparing for elections for 2.5 years. We attracted 26,000 people for the elections. 18,000 members of parties. It was suggested to lose some 1-2% of majoritarian candidates, but to prevent violations of the election law.
We were well prepared for the elections. We have found any serious violations, in Vydrychka polling station was not opened on time. In Uzhgorod at polling stations posters were missing, especially on the Party of Regions. In Chop observers found ballots issued without passport. In Rozivka the attendance of the polling station was noted in the list. A colleague from the party "UDAR" kept the list of people near the station. Many violations in Rakhiv and Tyachiv districts. Leaflets signed by Shelever not vote for him today were distributed. However, it should be noted that despite everything, some emergencies were successfully prevented."
Andriy Bahanych, "United Opposition": "60% of voters voted in Uzhgorod district as of 18.00. However, we can state that the elections were unfair. There is information that Kinchesh black Mercedes still continues to distribute money to voters. "
Svyatoslav Babilya, NGO "OPORA": "Morning of the election day started very quietly, except the fact that became known: wrongly placed tag "Left" in Rakhiv district. However, the violations had dotty character. There were also several reports that pressure on voters and bribery is made across the region.
We had 162 observers who were active in all districts. Cases of photographing ballots at students' dormitories were documented. In Chynadiyevo voting was organized by Roma baron. Meanwhile there was no response from the Commission. There was an attempt to take the ballots out in Tyachiv and Vynogradiv districts. This was an attempt to organize the so-called "carousel".
We are keen to see the end of this day. Arsenal of dirty technologies is not yet exhausted. Tomorrow we will have more accurate results and reactions to violations.
Major outcomes: these elections were using dirty technologies, polling stations were quite passive to violations.
We need to move to a new format of elections, when offenders are responsible for their actions."
