Constituency 71: The election commission failed to take the victory from Pavlo Baloha
At about 3 o'clock am the meeting of the election commission was adjourned to decide whether to take the rulings of Lviv Court into account or not. The election commission sought the advice of a staff lawyer.
Members of the commission, despite the law requiring only open ballot, decided to vote in secret mode.
Representatives of UDAR and the candidate Pavlo Baloha warned the commission and quoted the relevant article of the law on the election: it is contrary to the law.
By the secret ballot the commission members allegedly recognized the voting at the 188th station invalid.
The votes to invalidate election results at the 198th station in the same way were not enough: 9:9.
After discussions the commission members went to consult with the staff lawyer. He said in private conversations that if the votes to declare the election invalid were not enough, then the election was valid ...
About 5 o'clock on Friday morning the head of the election commission of the 71th constituency after lengthy consultations, possible calls on the CEC stated: that by the election commission decision by secret ballot (contrary to articles of the law) the election results at the 188th station had been allegedly recognized as invalid (10 votes to 8), but as for the 198th polling station, the election results there had been recognized as valid (9 votes to 9).
Then the head of the election commission of the 71th constituency announced that the meeting was closed.
