The police considers the version that the 16-year-old boy jumped from the 16-storeyed building through unrequited love
Today at 8 o'clock am bystanders phoned the police and reported that near the only one in Uzhgorod 16-storeyed building, located on Svoboda Avenue, there is a body of a boy. The investigative team of Uzhgorod City Police Department immediately went to the place of the accident.
"The boy had on him a student ticket of Transcarpathian State University. Later it was found out that he studied at the Humanities and Natural Sciences College of the University - told the spokeswoman of Uzhgorod City Police Department Ludmila Feyer. - The boy lived in the village of Znyatsevo in Mukachevo district, so his mother was called to Uzhhorod immediately. However, the woman is not able to report anyting significant as she is in a state of deep psychological shock."
Currently, police officers have found out that the guy was major at computer science and every morning he would come to study from home. This morning he, as always, left the village early in the morning. His mother said there were no signs of a tragedy: the son was in a good mood.
About 8 o'clock he left the elevator on the 16th floor of the building and tried to get on the roof. This was later told by a homeless man who was there. According to him, the boy approached him and asked if the roof was open. Learning that it was closed, he went to the public balcony of the 16th floor. A few minutes later his body was lying on the street in a pool of blood. What exactly could have caused such an act is not known. His teachers and mother said that young man was not hanging out with suspicious people, had no bad habits, studied hard and was very good-natured. At the same time, according to relatives, the boy was spending too much time at the computer. The police consider the version that suicide could have happened due to unrequited love. Currently, this version is investigated.
Uzhgorod 16-storeyed building is the tallest building of the regional center of Transcarpathia. It became infamous because suicides often jump from it. The police say that every year one or two people commit suicide here. The last suicide occurred Feb. 5, 2010. Then, a student of Uzhgorod National University jumped from the balcony of the 16th floor. A few months earlier, in November 2009, a 32-year-old woman jumped from the building.
Uzhgorod residents say that in the XVII century there was a gallows at the place where the 16-storeyed building is now. People, sentenced to death, were hung there. Later, there was a cemetery at this place. It was then razed to the ground and they began to build up there.
