The Hungarian language became regional in the village of Shalanky in Vynogradiv district
Deputies unanimously voted to draft decision "On the implementation of certain provisions of the law of Ukraine "On the Principles of State Language Policy" in the village of Shalanky". Hungarian language has been recognized as the regional in the settlement.
Deputies of Shalanky village council (Vynogradiv district of Transcarpathian region) voted to grant Hungarian the status of the regional language in the village.
This was reported by the chairman of the Shalanky village council Victor Alyokhin.
"At the regular session of the village council the members unanimously voted to draft resolution "On the implementation of certain provisions of the law of Ukraine "On the Principles of State Language Policy" in the village of Shalanky" - said the chairman of the village council.
According to him, this draft decision provides for inscriptions on letterheads, seals, stamps, plates of Shalanky Village Council to be in regional Hungarian, as well as the state Ukrainian language.
"The command of the state language and regional Hungarian from now on will be a mandatory criterion for applicants, when hiring employees in local authorities" - said Alyokhin.
Beregovo District Council of Transcarpathian region during a plenary session on Sept. 18 decided to give Hungarian the status of the regional language in the district, and on September 7 this year, members of the city council approved the Hungarian as the regional language in Beregovo.
