The Cabinet wants Ukrainians to pay 300% fine for utility services

Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing is calculating the amount of penalty for late payments for housing and utilities.
This was stated by the Minister of Regional Development and Housing Anatoly Bliznyuk.
"The question of charging fines for overdue utility bills will not be considered by the Cabinet today. However, this work should be done, and so we are initiating it. Now we're talking about how much to charge - 100%, 200%, or 300% of debt "- said Bliznyuk.
However, he noted that "the final decision will be formulated in the draft and submitted for the consideration of the Parliament."
As you know, in April 2012 MRDC developed the draft law "On Amendments to the Law on Utilities" (about charging penalties for late and / or partial payment for housing and communal services).
The document proposed to set the penalty at a rate of 0.1% of the amount of overdue payment, which is calculated for each day of delay, but not more than 100% of the total debt.
