Resonant case on "smuggling tunnel" has been sent to the court

As of Nov. 19 pretrial investigation on resonant criminal case against persons involved in the so-called "smuggling tunnel" is over, the materials have already been submitted to Uzhgorod interdistrict court for consideration on the merits. 
As previously reported by the press service of the Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region, on September 17, Transcarpathian region Prosecutor instituted a criminal case against two Transcarpathians suspected of involvement in smuggling tunnel over the unauthorized occupation of land (Part 2 of Art. 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It was preceded by the institution of the criminal case by the investigation department of the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region. These cases over the illegal manufacture, possession, sale or transportation for sale of excisable goods and smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors (Part 2 of Art. 28 and Part 1 of Art. 204, Part 2 of Art. 305 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with confiscation of drugs and forfeiture of property) were combined into one proceeding. 

Now the fate of the accused will be decided by the court - informed the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Transcarpathian region.
