In Transcarpathia dormitories will be handed to communities
In Transcarpathia, a program for transferring dormitories to local authorities has been approved. Over the next three years 13 dormitories with a total area of over 20,000 square meters will be transferred from state to communal ownership. Among them - 6 in the regional center, 3 - in Chop, 2 - in Beregovo, one - in Rakhiv and one - in Mukachevo.
The program will provide an opportunity to improve the living conditions of residents of dormitories in the region. Also they plan to prepare documents and to carry out reconstruction, internal repairs and upgrade of facades of dormitories in excess of 15 million - subject to funding from state and local budgets.
In total, the region has 111 dormitories. 62 dormitories belong to the public sector (education, social and other institutions), 15 - to communal property, 26 - to state ownership and 18 dormitories - to private ownership. 7275 Transcarpathians live in dormitories.
Almost all the dormitories, due to termination of operation of manufacturing plants or sharp reduction of staff, for several decades have not had any repair works done on. Indebtedness for utilities, electricity for this period of time have been constantly growing - informed the press service of the Regional Council.
