Customs officers seized illegal BMW 335D and undeclared ATV

Chop inspectors at the customs post "Tisa" stopped a BMW 335D with fake letter of trust and undeclared ATV "Suzuki".
In the first case, a citizen of Moldova, during the customs control in "green corridor" zone provided to the inspectors documents for BMW 335D with Italian registration numbers. But customs officers became suspicious about the authenticity of the letter of trust for the use of foreign car and directed it in the "red corridor" for a more thorough examination.

Soon, having received the official response from the Italian notary, Chop Customs officers found out that the letter of trust for the use of this passenger car was invalid. In addition, the head of the firm provided customs officers a copy of his statement to the Italian police, which stated that the BMW 335D had been assigned to the driver illegally. According to the Moldovan, he received the letter of trust from the director of the Italian enterprise, but he was not present during the certification of the document with a notary.

Thus, for providing false information on the passenger car BMW 335D, in respest of the Moldovan citizen a protocol of offenses under Part 1 of Art.483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine was written, and the illegal car was seized.

In the second case, our compatriot, returning from Spain through the Ukrainian-Hungarian border by a cargo van, both orally and in writing assured Chop customs officers that he was not carrying any goods subject to compulsory taxation. However, in the trailer of the van customs officials found a special purpose vehicle for off-road travel. The used ATV "Suzuki" (made in Japan) was partly dismantled (2 wheels, plastic sheathing and seat were missing).

The driver immediately recognized the discovered vehicle as his property.

For illegal import of ATV subject to mandatory declaration and payment of all required customs duties, inspectors drew out a protocol against the Ukrainian citizen under Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine - informed Victoria Senhetovska, spokeswoman of Chop customs.
