"Rokash" band presented video to the song "Sheep" in Uzhgorod
On Tuesday a press conference of the members of the band Rokash was held in Uzhgorod Press Club", devoted to the release of all-Ukrainian radio-rotation of the song "Sheep". The song was presented in two versions - the original one and in a duet with a Lviv singer, participant of the show "Voice of the country" Olesya Kirichuk.
"We started work on the video for the song "Sheep" last year in August. The shooting was taking place a few days in Volovets and Mizhgirskiy regions of Transcarpathia, in valleys near the village of Guklive, at the ski lift in the village of Pilipets, next to the Shipot waterfall and in Chinadievo castle, - said one of the leaders of the group "Rokash" Victor Yantso. - We planned to release it in fall, probably in November. But the video processing was delayed - new ideas kept appearing. Then we came up with Olesya Kirichuk’s duet. Then Christmas holidays came. At that time the video release of “Sheep” was irrelevant, so we decided to make a video for the song "Shchedrik", which was more appropriate for that time".
As the musicians said, it wasn’t that easy to shoot in the mountain valley: tools weighed a lot and the sheep did not obey. Taking Slava Vakarchuk as an example ("Okean Elzy"), the guys wanted to do just like their idol, to shoot the video with vivid emotions, meaning, not to play the recording but play live every chord. However, sheep were frightened by this approach: after the first few chords all the "extras" ran away, 150 sheep are not easy to gather together.
"During the arrangement the guys (Lviv band) added the sound of a Syrian, so we decided to introduce one more character, besides us and sheep – a witch. For this purpose we invited a singer from the band "Hudaky" Katerina Yarinich-Shkrobinets.
On Monday all-Ukrainian radio rotation of the song "Sheep" was launched. The company, which the group works with, has sent the track to more than 200 radio stations. The video is planned to be improved and given into rotation on "M1".
The radio single and video release coincides with the traditional beginning of sheep pasturage on the meadows and the beginning of tourist season. The video shows Carpathian landscapes, and the main message of the clip - "I want to go to the Carpathians" - appears in the subtitles of the video on the official YouTube channel, and the band Internet resources.
Regarding the band’s tour, their map has expanded this year: the group is going to visit several festivals in Poland and Hungary. During the gig at the Ukrainian song marathon, Ministry of Culture of Ukraine offered "Rokash" to sing in Italy during the Days of Ukrainian culture. Concerts around Ukraine remain in the schedule of the band.
