15-year old schoolboy drowned in Rakhiv district

The Transcarpathian rescuers received information on the possible death of the person in the river of Shopurka that is in the village of Velykyi Buchkiv at 6.20 p.m. on June 19. Later on it turned out that two tenth grades of the local school went to the pond to swim. Approximately at 5.15 p.m. 15-year old Myroslav dived into the river at a distance of nearly 10 meters from the bank. He was picked up by a strong current which took him ahead. According to the eyewitness, the other boy, he saw a friend who over some 50 meters appeared over the water surface then disappeared in an attempt to swim to the bank. Then he disappeared from Roman’s sight. Currently diving and rescue professionals of Khust ARZ SP TU MOE department in the Transcarpathian region continue to search for the missing teenager.

14 people, from whom two are juveniles, drowned in the Transcarpathian water objects since the beginning of the year, - informs TU MOE in the Transcarpathian region.
