"Zakarpathaz" is investigating gas explosion in Kopashnevo in Khust district

On Friday, August 17, nearly at 4 p.m. in the village of Kopashnevo in Khust district, an explosion of natural gas occured in two-story building at 137, Tsentralyna Street.
According to the head of Khust branch of "Zakarpathaz" PJSC Pavlo Nahirny, the explosion was caused by inappropriate behaviour of a Vasil D., who is registered in psychiatric records and had repeatedly threatened to take his own life. 

According to preliminary information, Vasil D. disconnected the convector, released gas and lit a cigarette. Explosion of gas without further combustion did not cause considerable damage and impaired only apartment window and door. The victim Vasil D., born in 1970, received 2nd to 3rd degree thermal burns of face and hands and now is in stable condition that does not endanger his life.

Detailed circumstances and causes of the tragedy are being investigated by the commission of inquiry - reports "Zakarpathaz" PJSC.
