Ukrainians consider their language as the key attribute of independence

Ukrainian language is the most distinguished feature of Ukrainian independence.

This is evidenced by a survey conducted by the Razumkov Centre, together with the Democratic Initiative Foundation, - informs ZN.UA .

36% of people said that they are proud of official language. Another 55% - showed a positive attitude. Total - 91% or majority.

Last year, pride and a positive attitude to the Ukrainian language was demonstrated by 92%. The number of those that perceive the language negatively did not change - 5%, as well as the number of those who want to change the official language to some other - 3%.

The number of fans of the national flag increased. If last year only 26% were proud of the blue-yellow flag, today they are 38%. Only 1% of people have negative attitude to this attribute, and 1% is so negative about it that would change the flag.

The smallest number of citizens are proud of such attribute and symbol of the independent state as its currency, the hryvnia. Thus, less than a quarter (23%) of the respondents are proud of hryvnia. On the other hand, two-thirds (67%) still have positive attitude to the currency . Negative - only 3%, another 2% would like to change hryvnia to another currency.
