Tomenko in Uzhgorod: "There is no Verkhovna Rada anymore"

"I have written a resignation letter, because I believe that the Verkhovna Rada of the VI convocation, as a representative body of Ukrainian people, does not really exist anymore. I will not stay in the Presidium", - assured the deputy chairman of the party VO "Batkivshchyna" Mykola Tomenko yesterday, on July 24, at the meeting with journalists in Uzhgorod Transcarpathian Press Club.

The politician also said: "It remains intriguing what will the parliamentary majority do in the current crisis. At the moment, the apparatus of the Verkhovna Rada lacks about 150 signatures of people's deputies with a proposal to hold an extraordinary session. The decision has not been made so far since the fate of the Verkhovna Rada Chairman has not been decided yet. There is also no candidate for the post of a temporary pre-election chairman for Verkhovna Rada of the VI convocation. The fate of the language bill has not been solved either and therefore, as the People's Deputy is convinced, there is no decision on the extraordinary session".
