The case against the ‘Visnyk Berehivshchyny’ editor was closed

A preliminary examination of a criminal case (art. 175, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) was held on August 6. Editor interim of the regional newspaper ‘Visnyk Berehivschyny’ Volodymyr Markitan was accused in the conscious nonpayment of wages to employees during 3 months.

The court made a decision to close the case taking into account the absence of complaints from the staff of edition, members of which spoke as witnesses and victims. Also when making such a decision the judge Drabiv V.I. took into account Markitan’s statement, where the latter asked him to close the criminal case and release him from criminal liability.

Present at the trial Prosecutor Onysko was against the termination of criminal proceedings. It was closed on the basis of p.45 and art. 7.1 CC of Ukraine.
