Reserve ‘Ostra’ will be created in Transcarpathia

Deputies of Regional Council approved the decision to declare the landscape reserve ‘Ostra’ as an object of natural reserve fund of local importance. Its area 20 hectares, is located on the territory of Kamianytska village council of Uzhgorod district - informs the press service of the Regional Council.

According to interim  head of environment state service in the Transcarpathian region Anatoliy Polianovskyi a draft decision on a landscape reserve of local importance ‘Ostra’ is developed according to the scientific study for the protection and conservation of biological and landscape diversity, rare or endangered species of flora and fauna, plant species and animals which are listed in the Red book of Ukraine, maintaining of hydrological conditions within the village council, protection and preservation of unique lowland landscape.
