Governor of Transcarpathia is afraid of smart women?
Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda gave some controversial answers in the interview with the regional web-site. The most surprising turned out to be his attitude to women. When asked what about women he values most, he said: "Firstly, they must not be too intelligent and must not show excessive knowledge." Then he was asked "If you were not youself, then who would you like to be?" he answered: "I definitely would not want to be a woman. I see how much hardship they endure. It is hard to imagine how I would have coped with those burdens."
Perhaps the governor had completely different in mind, and journalists misunderstood him? However, we just write what was said. That is, the governor does not like "too" smart women.
Then again, his attitude toward women just fits into the policy of the Party of Regions leaders. When was the last time we saw wife of Viktor Yanukovych after he became President? Little to nothing is known of the wife of Prime Minister Azarov. Overall, the Party of Regions do not quite honor the "weak" sex. Thus, among the first five candidates in the list there is traditionally room for only one woman, now it is singer Taisia Povaliy. Among the first twenty there are just two more women.
One can not help to have the impression that females are not welcomed in the party.
And answering the question about what he likes most about men, Oleksandr Oleksandrovych said: "confidence." Maybe one of the reasons is because he himself does not feel it, or else why would he not like "too smart women?"

І чого наїзджаєте? Принаймні чоловік правду сказав. Що у голові -- те і на язиці. А часто і без голови, просто на язиці
Сказанул на славу! Может!
