Emergencies Ministry warns region heads about bad weather on 27-29 August

Emergencies Ministry recommends region heads to take urgent action due to worsening weather conditions on 27-29 August. The letter to that effect signed by the interim Emergencies Minister Vitaly Booth was sent to all region heads, as reported by the press service of the Emergencies Ministry of Ukraine .

As stated in the document, according to the Ukrainian Meteorological Center, from 27 to 29 of August in Ukraine sharp deterioration in weather conditions is expected. Strong and very heavy rains with thunderstorms, sometimes accompanied by hail and squalls to 22 m/s will fall on August 27 in western and northern regions, and on 28-29 August throughout whole Ukraine.

In some areas of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, southern and central regions, precipitation with large hail and squalls of 25-30 m/s are expected.

During this period, starting from the western regions the temperature is projected to decrease at night to 9-15 ° C, at day to 14-19 ° C, in the southern and eastern provinces - at night to 15-20 ° C at day to 21-26 ° C .

A deterioration of hydrological situation and the formation of rain floods within river channels is expected in western regions.
