On August 26 Beregovo division of Transcarpathian Regional Office of Ministry of Internal Affairs instituted criminal charges on intentional damage to property by arson (Part 2 of Art. 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
On August 25, unidentified persons set fire to a forest in Beregovo forestry SE "Beregovo LH" near the village of Berehuyfalu.
The fire was extinguished but damaged nearly 20 hectares of forest.
Prosecutor took under control the investigation of the case.
Several versions have been put forward. The persons responsible for specified areas of forest and fire safety are being established.
Currently, direct damages, cause of the fire, and a person who commited arson are being defined – informs the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office in the Transcarpathian region.
