Coffee route appears in Uzhgorod

In Uzhhorod a tourist coffee route is developed. All worthy places will be shown on a special map which is being painted on the wall of one of the shops.

"In Uzhgorod owner of one of the coffeeshops made monument of coffee lover, another owner made monument of the coffee cup, famous sculptor Mukhailo Kolodko made bear out of coffee beans, which now stands in the "Detsa u notarya", sculptural composition "Cezve" was recently opened. Maybe somewhere someone did something else, but we do not know about it yet. In Mukachevo there is a shop with small figures - two coffee lovers drink coffee. One of the companies is already producing ground coffee or beans with writing on the packaging which says "Transcarpathian coffee." So, we had to summarize what Transcarpathian coffee is. That is how the idea of the Coffee Route sprung"- says Fedir Shandor, head of the Department of Tourism of UzhNU.

The idea originated when he visited one of the "Starbucks" coffeeshops. "I saw that there is coffee from different countries there. In addition, I found that there is a "coffee belt." In general, there are 48 coffee countries in the world. In addition, coffee is brewed differently, drunk differently, different grinding ... So I started collecting coffee from these 48 countries and already have half of the collection - the largest in Transcarpathia. "

For a long time the collector was looking for a coffee shop, talked to people who said "maybe, maybe," "very good idea", but nothing worked. Instead the "Palachinta" restaurant owners agreed. On the one side of the wall there will be a map - guides will be able to point coffee route and explain about Transcarpathian coffee. On the other side there will be exhibit of coffee from around the world - everything related to coffee, even coffee jam.

Well-known Uzhgorod artist Natalia Khukhro is currently painting a wall. Coffee shops will be added on the panel gradually. Tourist Information Center, which is headed by Oleksandr Koval, gathers reviews on cafes, they involved blogger Oleksandr Bogdanov, students and teachers of the Department of Tourism also help. We collect all these information and then we will decide who deserves an award "- said Fedir Shandor.

The map is planned to open by the fall. The names of recommended houses will be added in stages.
