Borzhava narrow-gauge railway to be dismantled for scrap by the company from Lugansk

The workers from Lugansk are dismantling a 15 km narrow-gauge railway in Irshava district, sold by the regional office of the State Property Fund of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region. The gauge used to pass between the villages of Priborzhavskoe and Kushnitsa in Irshava district.

This was informed from the scene by the head of NGO "Borzhava Initiative" Dennis Dobra.

We remind that recently, the press service of the State Property Fund in Transcarpathian region insisted that the "privatization of the narrow-gauge railway between the villages brought more than 410 000 hryvnia to the state budget, as well as stopped its theft, destruction and damage. In addition, the state budget received almost 130 thousand UAH as a compensation for damages to the company "Dolzhansky Lesokombinat", which were caused by improper maintenance of state property".

But they keep silence about the fact that the tracks of a unique tourist attraction were sold at a price below the cost of scrap metal, and the firm that had won the privatization tender, immediately got down  to dismantling them, in fact, destroying a unique tourist object.
