Baby boom in Transcarpathia

As the nursing deputy head doctor of Uzhgorod City Perinatal Center Nadia Holodnyak told to ‘Castle’ that 1845 babies was born in Uzhgorod during the first half of this year and this, in comparison with the corresponding period of last year, on 200 babies more. Altogether, there are 961 boys and 884 girls. 30 of them are twins.

It should be noted that the total number of Uzhgorod newborns is only 719 and all the rest 1126 children are from mothers who live in Uzhgorod and other district.
