Regional rehabilitation center received unique equipment

Medico-Social Rehabilitation Center "Way of Life" recently received new equipment – a locomotor therapy complex. The equipment helps children suffering from cerebral palsy and the musculoskeletal system disorder to learn to move. The complex consists of a treadmill and a robot that controls the course of medical training. The computer simulates the natural walk, which is regulated by both speed and style of movements. 
– Currently two children are training on the unit. This therapy works for everyone individually, even the parameters of each child must be set separately. We want to see the results of trainings to subsequently engage other children – said the head of the rehabilitation department Valery Dorofeychuk.
Ministry of Social Affairs signed an agreement to purchase eight complexes. They have been delivered to rehabilitation centers in several regions. The total cost of the equipment is 43.8 million hryvnias. One unit costs about 4.5 million. 
– In Western Ukraine only Volyn has such equipment. Currently in the region there are 702 children with cerebral palsy, including 50 – in Uzhgorod. I am sure, this device will help many of them. 
Regional authorities, for their part, will also help the Center, as the institution is funded from the regional budget too – said Oleksandr Ledyda.
The head of the region also inspected the premises, where children are treated and trained. Overall, annually 600 people with disabilities undergo rehabilitation in the Center – informed the press center of RSA.
