Prosecution have initiated 14 criminal cases in the field of wages payment

In general, during the current year the regional prosecutor’s office have instituted 14 criminal cases in the field of wages payment, 17 cases of this category have been forwarded to court, following the consideration of 84 submitted documents, 48 charges were brought against the guilty officials, including 13 officials of the state and local government authorities and 2 – of the supervisory authorities. Under the acts of prosecutorial response, arrears of wages in excess of 5.5 million hryvnias have already been repaid.
Thanks to these measures the amount of unpaid wages has been reduced.
Prosecutors of the region during 2012 have conducted a number of checks to protect citizens’ rights to labor compensation, during which criminal acts have been revealed. 
In addition, the regional prosecutor’s office have revealed violations in the work of the territorial state labor inspection concerning the monitoring of the compliance with legislation on labor remuneration at the companies having wages arrears.  
Following the consideration of the prosecution applications, two chief state labor inspectors have been brought to justice.
Prosecutors have properly reacted to the ommisions of action by the commissions at local state administrations, by municipal councils executive committees for repayment of wages, pensions, stipends and other social benefits and tax debt.
Thus, following the results of the consideration of the regional prosecutor’s application, disciplinary charges were brought against the deputy head of the regional commission – Chief of Labor and Social Protection Department of the Regional State Administration – informed the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office.
