Population of Ukraine decreased to 45 and a half million

According to preliminary data, the population in Ukraine as of January 1, 2013 will decline by 85,800 people - to 45,547,800 million people. This was reported by the State Statistics Service.

As of January 1, 2012 the population of Ukraine amounted to 45,633,600.

As of the beginning of 2013 the urban population will be 31,361,800 people, rural - 14,186,000 people.

The average population in 2012 was 45,590,700 persons, while the average urban population was 31,371,400 people, rural - 14,219,300.
