Mykolays in Uzhgorod will be on wheels!

December 19th, on St. Nicholas Day, the Parade of Mikolajczyks, contest of Christmas decorations and festive lighting of the main Transcarpathian Christmas tree is traditionally held in Uzhgorod. Today, December 10, at the meeting with journalists, Mikolajczyk movement leader, the head of the Tourism Department of UzhNU Fedir Shandor told what else guests and residents of the city can see during this event.
"In addition to traditional events, this year's holiday is replenished with another interesting event - "The writer behind the counter." Thus, already for 10 days Transcarpathian writers have alternately communicated "live" with their readers behind the counter of the "Kobzar" book store - said F.Shandor.
As for the parade of Mikolajczyks, it will start on December 19 at 12.00 on Teatralna Square. Half an hour later they will be joined by hundreds of adults benefactors and ten colleagues on bikes! They all will go to the local children's hospital carrying gifts.
At 13.00 the Mayor will light the main city Christmas tree. In the evening of the same day, at 17.00 there will a competition "A Book for St. Nicholas Day". And the events will end on December 20 with charity auction to raise funds for the implementation of the next social project for children.
As noted by Fedir Shandor, this event is very popular among visitors of the city. By the way, even one of the Kharkiv travel companies for four consecutive years have offered trips for the parade of Mikolajczyks to Transcarpathia.
