‘Veselka nad Tysoyu’ aims to become the best festival in Western Ukraine
The 7th All-Ukrainian Festival of modern and folk song ‘Veselka nad Tysoyu’ will be held in Tyachiv on May 10-13. The director of the competition Ivan Pylypets stated that festival becomes more and more popular with each passing year, so they are hoping that within a few years it will be one of the most popular events in Western Ukraine.
The organizers expect that nearly 70 participants from all over the country and from broad will come there this year. There will be 10 participants from the Tyachiv region. However, due to Euro-2012 some singer will not be able to visit the festival, because they are going to pass their exams at this time. By the way, they provide free of charge accommodation in Transcarpathia for visiting artists, according to the singer.
The contest participants will be competing in three age categories: 9-11, 12-15 and 16-22 years. The respectful jury headed by the famous national composer, National Artist of Ukraine – Alexandr Zlotnyk will assess their performance. By the way, the former participants of the fest successfully participate in various singing projects like ‘Ukraina Maye Talant’ (‘Ukraine’s Got Talent’), ‘Golos Kraine’ (‘Voice of the Country’), ‘X-factor’. Vyacheslav Korsak from Uzhgorod won at the first ‘Veselka nad Tysoyu’ festival.
Tyachiv citizens and visitors of the city will be able to see a grand festive gala concert of the festival winners on May 13.
