Vashchuk is appointed as rector of UzhNU without resigning from TSU and without remuneration.

Zakarpattya Online obtained the text of the order of Minister of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine Dmytro Tabachnik on appointing Fedir Vashchuk as Acting Rector of Uzhgorod National University (UzhNU).

As it turned out, the current rector of the Transcarpathian State University (TSU) Fedir Vashchuk is appointed as the acting rector of the Uzhgorod National University without dismissal from his current post and without remuneration.

That is actually the merger of the two universities, which F. Vashchuk had been consistently seeking.

Indirect confirmation of the merger is the statement of F. Vashchuk made by him on the day of his introduction to the UzhNU team. It says that UzhNU in the middle of the year will be admitting fee-paying students from other universities with the preservation of the amount of payment made to the previous university.

Appointment of F. Vashchuk is based on the letter of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.

As previously reported, the current rector of TSU and at the same time acting rector of UzhNU Fedir Vashchuk is a member of the Party of Regions and a member of the Party of Regions faction in the Uzhgorod city council. Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda is the head of the Transcarpathian regional organization of the Party of Regions. The current Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of Ukraine Dmytro Tabachnik is also a Party of Regions member.
