Transcarpathian fencers are in the top five in Ukraine

On Thursday, May 10, the chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledida met the winner of the International tournament of the Carpathian Euroregion Sergey Goretski. The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Transcarpathian Fencing Federation Mikhail Pantyo and the head of the regional management of youth and sport Vitaly Erfan - the press center of Regional State Administration reports.
The last few years, fencing sport in Transcarpathian region has been hitting stride. The proof of this is the 15-year-old athlete Sergei Gorki’s victory in the International tournament of the Carpathian Euroregion held in memoriam of the honored coach of Ukraine Vasyl Herey. These competitions are the official scoring tournament for the Cadet National Team. Last time Transcarpathians won the tournament three years ago. Moreover, the young athlete won bronze at European Championship, which took place in Croatia. By the way, Sergei Goretsky is the successor of the titled Dynasty of athletes.

Congratulating the champion, Alexander Ledyda said:
- It's nice that young gifted athletes celebrate Transcarpathia all over Ukraine and throughout the world. The main thing today is not to stop on what has been achieved. Fencing Federation of Transcarpathia is one of the best in the country, and above all it is due to such successful athletes.
During the meeting, Alexander Ledyda received a citation from Sergei Goretski Senior and the Fencing Federation of Transcarpathia for the personal contribution and support of the sport fencing development.
