Train ‘Lviv-Rakhiv’ will not be cancelled

It is mentioned in the official letter of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine to the Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Alexanrd Ledyda – informs the press center of RSA.

We remind you that back in February it became known about the decision of ‘Ukrzaliznytsya’ to cancel the train ‘Lviv-Rakhiv’. This message caused a considerable resonance among Rakhiv district dwellers, members of the regional council were also against this decision.

The Head of Transcarpathia Alexandr Ledyda personally made a request to the President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine asking for help in dealing with this problem .

The issue was reconsidered by the Cabinet of Ministers. The letter signed by the First Deputy Infrastructure Minister Konstantyn Yefymenko states that the train will not be cancelled. Here is the quote: ‘considering the numerous appeals of citizens, organizations, governments with the introduction from 27.05.2012 the  trains schedule for 2012/2013 №606/605 Lviv-Rakhiv is saved on daily basis’.

The regional government completely supports the Rakhiv region dwellers in this issue. Because it is impossible to leave the furthest mountainous region without railway communication. Therefore, the decision to abolish the train ‘Lviv-Rakhiv’ is cancelled – informed the head of the regional administration Alexandr Ledyda.
