Tchop border guard was selling military secrets

On April 14th, Uzhgorod garrison military prosecutor's office, as the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region informs, prosecuted military service sergeant K., serving on contract at the Tchop border troop, for the crime under Art. 368 Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (accepting a bribe by an official combined with extortion).

In mid-March 2012 military service sergeant on contract K., for mercenary reasons demanded and received a bribe of 900 euros from a local resident.

On April 13, 2012 the border guard K. was caught ‘red-handed’ when receiving a bribe and transferring  proprietary information about border posts location, secrets, technical means and facilities at the state border.

Pre-trial investigation is continuing. K. was detained on suspicion of committing a crime, as the Department of relations with the media of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine informs.
