Sugar is becoming more expensive

The reduction of the main raw material seeding - sugar beets cannot significantly affect sugar price. According to Mykola Yarchuk, chairman of the National ‘Ukrtsukor’ plant, reserves of sugar will be enough to satisfy the local market needs. However, other cost components, including - energy resources price is becoming more expensive constantly, that may increase the price of the product by 15-20%.

Experts predict that during the 2012-2013 marketing year, price for sugar for consumers will increase by 8.7 hryvnia per kilogram.

On June 5, 2012 the average wholesale prices from manufacturers are from 5200 to 5700 hryvnia per ton, writes Ukrinform.
