Representatives of 5 countries became the winners of ‘UZHGOROD OPEN 2012’

Fifteen hundred participants from 20 world countries competed in almost 20 categories and 30 types of programs on the 12th traditional international dance sport competition ‘UZHGOROD OPEN 2012’ which were held in Uzhgorod, on April 28-29.

The most prestigious was the ‘Adults’ dance category WDSF OPEN. The 40th couple Mykhailo Bilopukhov – Anastasia Shypylina, who beat their dwellers from Kharkiv and Poltave won on the first day of the European program competition. The winners noted that they have competed in Uzhgorod and just celebrated the 5th anniversary of being in the duet.

The first place took Vladimir Liatov and Veronika Myshko (club ‘Gratsia’, Uzhgorod) on the second day’s evening program. To win the couple was extremely hard. After all, just before these competitions Volodia and Nika left a lot of strength in the Denmark European championships (10 dances in the program – final, the 5th place) and in Germany (on the European program – access to the semifinals).

The Meet Referee, the arbiter of the international category (WDSF) Tetiana Lisunova from Simferopol noted that ‘UZHGOROD OPEN 2012’ is one of the best dance tournaments in Ukraine thanks to the judges and rating athletes from many countries participation, the competitions’ organization and even the room’s design. The President of the Transcarpathian Regional Department of All-Ukrainian Dance Sport Federation, the chief organizer of competitions Alexandr Myshko emphasized that due to many years of the event experience it can be made even much better and the advantageous geographical position helps with the duels form many countries arrival in Uzhgorod.
