Status of preparations of the customs authorities for Euro 2012 was discussed at the international meeting

In Debretsen (Hungarian Republic), an international working meeting of Chop Customs Chief Alexander Pokhil’ko, Consul General of Ukraine in Niredgaza Sergei Borodenkov, the chairman of regional branch of UMB in Transcarpathian region Margaryta Moshchak and the head of Debretsen regional customs and tax administration Mezo Gabor, informs Victoria Sengetovskaya, a spokesman of Chop customs.

It was about the status of border customs preparatin to Euro 2012, a new Customs Code of Ukraine and the results of the recent innovations in the Hungarian legislation on the restriction of import of fuel into the territory of Hungary.
Alexander Ivanovych informed his Hungarian counterpart that yesterday, April 19, the President of Ukraine signed a pre-approved by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a new version of the Customs Code with all amendments, which has already received a positive evaluation of European and world business community. Therefore, shortly after the official publication, the customs officers will work under the new Code. The Head of Ukrainian customs stressed that the new legislative document is adjusted to international standards, and it will ensure maximum simplification and acceleration of customs procedures.

As Consul General of Ukraine in Hungary, Sergey Borodenkov assured that in the diplomatic service in Niredgaza all the necessary information about the basic requirements of the new customs laws will be provided so that citizens are timely informed of and comply with customs regulations when crossing the border.
Also, during the business meeting they discussed the issues of allocation of separate traffic lanes for fans for the period of Euro 2012, as well as appointment of responsible officials for the provision of advisory services to the citizens directly in the customs control zone.

What concerns the results of the recent introduction of regulations on import of fuel into the territory of Hungary, according to Mr. Mezo Gábor, a significant positive economic impact from the sale of gasoline in their region is felt even today. The number of dishonest people who use illegal resale of low-cost Ukrainian fuel abroad for much higher price decreased by 20%. At the end of the meeting both sides agreed to promote maximum guest pass to Ukraine for the football championship Euro 2012 and continue to exchange experience of improving and simplifying customs procedures.
