On Palm Sunday everyone should build Jerusalem in their heart, people in the Transcarpathian village Topchino say

In the 90-s, after Ukraine gained independence, on the map of Tyachiv region, appeared a new mountain village Topchino, which hitherto had been a part of Nizhniaya Apsha. Out of the 400 households 100 hard-working Romanians united and built their Orthodox church (other inhabitants belong to the sects).

Priest Georgiy Ofrym is confident that word of God has to be heard first of all by children, in other words by the young generation of Topchino, so he introduced the custom in his parish: on Palm Sunday only children receive communion.

Palm Sunday, – says the priest, – makes each of us reflect on his actions and to build in our hearts a small Jerusalem, where mercy, kindness and love of a neighbor will reign.
