New tunnel will be in the Carpathians

The preparatory works on the railway Beskyd tunnel construction are conducted in the Carpathians. With the reference to the press service of ‘Ukrzalianytsa’ informs UKRINFORM. The construction is intended for 4 years, it is planned to start already this year.  

The main strategic construction aim of this object for Ukraine lies in the fact, that through this way goods pass to Western and Central Europe. The emergency, one-track will be replaced with the new two-way passage. Currently it is the only way on the route of Crete International Transport Corridor to which Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia, Ukraine and Russia are involved. The tunnel changing will allow pass 100 trains a day, instead of 24 trucks and 23 passenger trains, as it is now.

The approximate cost is determined as 102, 7 million euro, LR will provide the preparatory works on its own expense.
