On Saturday, April 7, in the press center ‘Zakarpatie’ a memorandum will be signed. Members of the public and government, together with Viktor Baloga, in written form will mark the first steps towards the civilized solution of the neglected and painful problem of stray animals.
It has to do with an articulated by Viktor Baloga proposal to build private dog shelters in all regional centers of the Transcarpathian region. The first steps in this direction have already been made in Mukachevo, where, though with some problems, operates the appropriate shelter. A mutual initiative of the authorities and defenders of animal rights in Uzhgorod on the adoption of the program that defines a set of measures to address this issue in the regional center couldn’t have a better timing.
Viktor Baloga, representatives of animal protection organizations and mayors of Uzhgorod, Beregovo, Khust and Chop will take part in signing the memorandum.
