Lavatories and drinking fountains will be settled and car drive prohibited in Uzhgorod parks
The stationary lavatories will be settled in the two largest Uzhgorod parks – Bozdoshskyi and Pidzamkovyi. In addition, drinking fountains will be installed and the fight with the drivers who ride on the pedestrian zone will continue. Uzhgorod City Mayor announced this today, on Monday, May 21. Victor Pogorelov visited recreation places in order to prepare them to the summer season.
At the meeting, attended by the representatives of the Municipal Department and City Water Service (Vodokanal), the City Mayor gave orders to arrange the water supply and sewerages in the parks in order to build the stationary toilets. And later on, the fountains with drinking water which would be of service to holiday makers and sportsmen during hot days in the parks. Also the Mayor checked implementation of his order on the motion limiters installation in Pidzamkovyi Park, that are designed to deal with the drivers’ negligent, who ride along the paths intended for pedestrians, rollers and cyclists. Following this, the limiters will be installed in the Bozdosh Park, where, as we know, some motorists ‘cut’ their ways just through the green zones and paths. The recreational zones with attractions and the possibility of sunbathing cooling off in summer should appear in the nearest to the river parks. The City Government announces the competition on such a facility arrangement and invites to apply to the Uzhgorod City Council Culture, Family and Youth Department interested entrepreneurs – informs the press service.
Drivers allowed themselves to ride along the paths, which are equipped for walking, jogging, rolling and biking.
Benches are already installed and the illumination arrangement in ongoing in the Pidzamkovyi Park.
