Interim UzhNU Rector says Tabachnik promised to give our university “green light”

Minister of Education Dmitry Tabachnik has promised Acting rector of Uzhgorod National University Vitaliy Nikolaychuk to resolve the issue of financing public utilities and scholarships before June 10. Nikolaychuk announced this yesterday, May 29, at the meeting of the University Scientific Council.

Also, though it is against the rules, Tabachnik promised to help resolve the issue of the deficit of a special fund containing the money earned by the university, that is not transferred to the state but used for the development of the university and pay-offs to the employees.
Nikolaychuk says that he communicated with the Minister on Friday, May 25, and assures: "The ministry has opened a green light for us".
One of Nikolaychuk’s reproaches to the previous rector Nikolay Vegesh is that he did not co-operate with the Minister Tabachnyk. However, speaking at the meeting of Academic Council, the Regional Council chairman Ivan Baloga reminded that when Stanislav Nikolayenko had been the Minister of Education, UzhNU was provided more than 2 million gryvnia to improve material and technical base.
