Children will be given passports with chips and information about parents

Biometric passports will be valid for 10 years, and children passports - for 4 years. Passports will be given to Ukrainians at the time of birth, and it will be possible to enter even the names of the trustees and blood group there.
The relevant bill was adopted by the parliament in the first reading. According to the bill, such innovations will be implemented in 2013, informed UBR.
"We propose to issue biometric internal passports and passports for travel abroad immediately at birth. They will contain integrated chip, which will store all the information about the person. Parents will be able to record all the child's data there: digitized photo, name, date of birth, citizenship, as well as digitized signature of adults, etc." - says the author of the bill Vasyl Hrytsak.
In September 2011, a similar bill on biometric passports was vetoed by the President because it had no sufficient safeguards to protect personal data. Hrytsak says, this time with the necessary modifications, his bill will be adopted in the second reading in early October, and in early November it will be signed by the President.
