Cabinet of Ministers will allow employers not to pay wages to students during the internship

Employers who will take students and higher education institution graduates on the internship will be able not to pay them salaries, informs the Minister of Social Policy Sergei Tigipko.

He presented the social initiatives of the President and, in particular, focused on stimulating the employment of the higher educational institutions graduates and vocational schools students – informs Korrespondent.

‘It is difficult for young people at present because they have no seniority and experience. We predicted three positions that enable to change the situation’ – said Tigipko. According to his words from now on employers are able not to pay wages to young people during the internship.

‘We were very seriously criticized for this. We have checked the students’ reaction and they said that it is right to give them a chance. The second position is a mandatory record of student’s internship in the workbook, which will indicate a certain experience. And the third position – the employer can pay wages for the period of probation but at the same time he will be released from the single social payment’, - concluded Tigipko.

Earlier, Tigipko announced that soon vouchers which will contain money for education to receive a new profession or further training will be imposed in Ukraine.
