Because of 50 hidden cartons of cigarettes a Serb lost a cargo tractor
Today at the customs post ‘Djakovo’ on the Ukrainian-Romanian border, Tchop inspectors prevented the illegal transfer of 50 cartons of tobacco products, hidden in the truck cab, said Victoria Sengetovskaya, a spokesman at Customs Chop.
A truck driver, a citizen of Serbia, hid 500 packs of cigarettes of a domestic production ‘Viceroy’ under the cab in the engine compartment of the vehicle, in the cab inside the sleeping mattress, as well as in the tool box attached to the tractor frame.
As a result of the offense the case on violation of customs rules under Art. 352 of the Customs Code of Ukraine was opened. Hidden items, valued at 4000 hryvnia as well as the tractor, which was used for the illegal movement of goods costing 207 000 hryvnia, were taken to court.
