Did Medvedchuk want to get away from Transcarpathia to Hungary by helicopter?.. This – unverified – information stirred Uzhgorod today. A mysterious helicopter landed in the main airport of the region. When Automaidan learned about it, pilots were not in the aircraft. Several people came to the airport to find out who and why came here and inspect the aircraft. There were various versions – that it was the president, or rather, the former head of the state, himself fleeing from the country, or that it was Medvedchuk taking values from his Transcarpathian estate.
Volodymyr Horinetsky, the director of the International Airport "Uzhgorod", said that according to the documents, the helicopter took off from Lviv and flew to Uzhgorod airport, to fly to Budapest after going through Customs and Border Control.
According to Horinetsky, the helicopter made a stop in Lviv to refuel, and it was following from Kyiv. Under the fly-plans, the aircraft is owned by Challenge Avia – Ukrainian company that provides VIP-air transportation services. He said that all documentation was fine.
While people were waiting for the border guards, customs officers and the police, the helicopter crew appeared at the airport.
Yuliy Bobrov, the navigator of the helicopter informed: "We do not transport anything, the helicopter goes to Budapest for maintenance."
Revolutionaries are not satisfied with this, they believe that the aircraft must be inspected to ensure that it would not take out anything or anyone valuable and interesting from Ukraine.
The inspection was conducted in cooperation with border guards and dogs with special meticulousness. The result: helicopter is empty, neither official services no Self-Defense have any reasons to delay the departure.
