A group of persons was detained by investigators of the Uzhgorod Police Department under the procedural control of the Uzhgorod Prosecutor’s Office. It consisted of 5 Uzhgorod residents aged 15 to 20. Those persons organized the sale of drugs on the territory of Transcarpathia through a messenger channel.
Transcarpathian police officers detained four young men between the ages of 15 and 17 who were carrying drugs. During the search, they seized from the minors 12 bags of marijuana, bank cards and mobile phones.
As the police found out, the minors were working closely with a 20-year-old Uzhgorod resident. During a search at his place of residence, law enforcement officers seized a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance, hallucinogenic mushrooms and cannabis, as well as a large number of pills, probably narcotic; electronic scales for weighing drugs, zip bags, foil and adhesive tape for their packaging.
Using a messenger channel, the man along with the minors, advertised and distributed narcotics. The members of the group delivered orders for narcotic substances and received payment on bank cards. The minors were also involved in the advertising of the drug channels by painting graffitis on the facades of buildings in public places of the regional center.
The investigators opened an investigation into the sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues, as well as the use of the proceeds from their illicit trafficking (as provided for in Article 307 (2) and Article 306 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the Communication Department of the Transcarpathian regional police, the 20-year-old Uzhgorod resident was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He is now in custody.
