Mourning day in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

In Uzhgorod, there was a meeting-requiem for the Crimean Tatars deported 70 years ago from the Crimea, the portal 7 dniv informs. Then, within a few days, thousands of Crimean Tatars were deported from their homeland and scattered across the Soviet Union, deprived of the right to live in their native land.

Today in Uzhgorod, they honored killed Crimean Tatars with a moment of silence. And lit candles, arranging them in the shape of a sign symbolic for the Tatars.

On ​​Teatralna Square, they also posted information, photos and drawings that remind about the tragic events of 1944. May 18 in the history is called "Crimean genocide."
