According to the Transcarpathian Forestry and Hunting Economy Department, this year, Transcarpathian foresters plan to sell 43,600 fir trees.
Foresters grow Christmas beauties at special plantations.
For example, in Klynovets forestry in Mukachevo district, such plantation has an area of 0.2 hectares, and about 300 fir trees have been grown there.
Once the tree is cut down, it is registered in the unified database, and anyone can check the height of the tree, where and when it was cut down by a number tag that is attached to every tree.
Foresters and environmentalists advise to look for this tag when buying a Christmas tree.
