The new parliament could pass a law that equates sending malicious messages to a felony.
"It is necessary to amend the Criminal Code. Then the spammers issue can be moved from a stadstill. It has long been planned. There is a bill number 9575, which we supported. It is now at the stage of completion," – said the head of the anti-cybercrime department of MIA Maxim Litvinov, informed the "Komentari."
Note that this document, developed by Vladimir Oleinik of the Party of Regions, provides for the implementation of administrative fines in the amount of 17 – 34 thousand hryvnias or imprisonment for up to 3 years.
If the spam action caused serious consequences, the offenders faces 5-8 years in prison or a substantial penalties – from 34 to 85 thousand hryvnias.
Scientific Expert Department of the Verkhovna Rada so far has not supported the position of the police.
According to their analysts, such action as spam, has not yet reached the level of public danger, which would give grounds to recognize it as crime.
