Ledyda told Yanukovych that everything is fine in the region, it’s just that Europeans at the border are lazy

The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda reported to the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych on the work of border checkpoints, the situation with flood and spring field works in the region.

During the conversation, the President paid special attention to the issue of border crossing points, including the speed of the traffic flow across the border.According to the Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, queues are only during the rush hour. "On our side, the border guards, customs officers clear a car within 3.5 minutes, and on European side – in Hungary, Romania, Slovakia – within 10 minutes," – he said.

O.Ledyda also told the President about the implementation of the program for introduction of alternative energy sources and individual heating system in order to save gas. These measures will save 32-34% of fuel, he said. Overall, according to the head of RSA, for the first quarter the GDP growth in the region was 1.8%. "The number of new jobs is increasing, new businesses open," – O.Ledyda said.

The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration reported that the flood in the region caused virtually no damages except for flooding of some rural areas related to reclamation channels. According to him, in the mountains there is still plenty of snow, however, according to the National Weather Service forecasts, significant floods are not expected.
